I have two large Lamaze toys with a bunch of stuff hanging out of them and I think they are too much for a little baby to handle. This one is small, simple and suitable for tiny hands. More importantly it is a rattle! It is not loud - just perfect! The dark-green sides can be used for teething and both have different patterns. The red wings crinkle and can be lifted up to find that under them there is the beetle's stripy belly:) Very cute!
